The 49er United 2007 Flash, a girls competitive soccer team made up of players from the foothills area, looks to be picking up where it left off last season.

The Flash, an Under-11 team that had a very successful 2017–18 spring season, captured its age-group bracket in the Division I Stanford Classic last weekend. The tournament win keeps the Flash ranked as one of the Top 15 U-11 teams in the Northern California region.

The Flash’s run to the tournament title started with wins over squads from Walnut Creek, 2-1, Lamorinda, 3-0, and Rohnert Park, 4-0.

In an action-packed tourney final, the Flash defeated Pajaro Valley (Watsonville), 4-2.

Up next for the Flash is the Copa de Sierras tournament Labor Day weekend in Truckee against some of the top teams from Nevada and then the start of the State Cup Tournament, in which the Flash have been placed in the top-seeded State-Premier Division.
