El Dorado Hills CSD Youth and Adult Sports Program Offerings – Fall/Winter 2017

Peewee soccer (ages 4-6)
Children are exposed to the fundamentals of soccer by learning how to kick, trap, pass and how play the goalie position. This four-week camp meets on Thursdays Sept. 7 – Sept. 28 at the Promontory Community Park girls’ softball field. Parents can pick either a 5 or 6 p.m. start time. Fee is $60 and includes t-shirt, snack and gift card from a sponsoring vendor. Call the registration desk before the Sept. 1 deadline. Once maximum numbers are reached, registration closes so don’t delay.
Peewee T-ball (ages 4-6)
Camp participants learn the fundamentals of baseball by learning how to throw, catch, run the bases and hit off a stationary batting tee. This four-week camp meets on Thursdays from Oct. 5 to Oct. 26 at the Promontory Community Park girls’ softball field. Parents can pick either the 5 or 6 p.m. start time. The fee of $60 includes a camp t-shirt, snack and gift card from a sponsoring vendor. Deadline to register is Sept. 29 or once maximum numbers reached.
Peewee basketball (ages 4-6)
Children are taught how to dribble, pass and shoot along with the importance of teamwork while having fun. This camp is three weeks in duration due to the Thanksgiving Holiday and meets on Thursdays from Nov. 2 to Nov. 16 at the Brooks Elementary School gym. Children must be 4 or older to participate and camp fee ($45) includes t-shirt, snack and gift card from a sponsoring local vendor. Registration deadline is Oct. 27 or when full.
Winter boys’ youth basketball (grades K–10th)
The focus of this league is to learn the fundamentals of the sport in a fun yet competitive environment. Practices are once a week beginning in December with games on Saturdays in January and February. Registration fee is $160 before Oct. 13 or $175 thereafter (pending availability). Players need to attend a player evaluation prior to team formation. Hoop height will vary based on grade. Grades may be combined depending on registration numbers. Players receive uniform and personalized award. Registration fee also includes basic photo package.
Winter girls’ youth basketball (grades K–10th)
This program allows girls to play in a fun yet competitive league. Teams are formed based on grade and may be combined depending on registration numbers. The season begins with practices in December followed by Saturday games in January and February. Registration fee is $160 if before Oct. 13 or $175 thereafter (pending availability). Players need to attend a player evaluation prior to team formation. Hoop height will vary based on grades. All participants receive a uniform and personalized award. Registration fee includes a basic photo package.
Youth dodgeball (ages 7-13)
Catch dodgeball fever by playing this fast-paced and fun indoor game. Teams are formed each night for this four-week session from Sept. 8 to Sept. 29. Camp runs from 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. for four consecutive Fridays and held at the CSD gym. Registration deadline is Sept. 1 and the camp fee is $60 which includes a t-shirt.
High school flag football (ninth-12th grade)
Games are played on Sunday afternoons at Promontory from Sept. 10 to Oct. 29. Teams are formed from interest list by volunteer high school managers. Call registration desk to be added to the list before the deadline of Aug. 18.
Adult 5x5 basketball
Teams play seven games followed by playoffs for the top-four teams. Games are played at the CSD gym on Sunday evenings from Oct. 29 to Jan. 7. Team fee is $435 with a deadline to register of Oct. 20 or when full. Championship shirts are awarded to playoff winners.
Adult flag football (6-vs.-6 – Pass-only league)
Teams play seven games followed by playoffs for the top-four teams. Games are played on Sunday afternoons at the Promontory Community Park Synthetic Field from Sept. 10 to Oct. 29. Team fee is $435 with playoff winners earning championship t-shirts for their efforts. Registration deadline is Aug. 25.
Adult open gym basketball
Drop in any Monday or Thursday night at the CSD gym for only $5 per visit, or purchase punch card for $20 allowing five visits. Times are 8:15 to 10 p.m.
Pickleball (Drop in ages 18 and up)
Stop by the CSD gym on Tuesdays or Thursdays (9 a.m.-noon) or Sunday (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.) to learn and enjoy this rapidly growing sport. Fee is $4 per visit or purchase a $15 punch card that equates to one free visit.
Pickleball lessons (ages 18 and up)
Beginners - Learn the basics of the sport with lessons on Tuesday and Thursdays, Sept. 5 to Sept. 14 from noon to 1 p.m. at the CSD gym. Fee is $60 with a deadline of Aug. 25 to register. Intermediates – Learn power, accuracy and strategies on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 19 to Sept. 28 at the CSD gym from 12-1 p.m. Fee is $60 with a registration deadline of Sept. 8.
