Paramdeep Sodhi finished second at the WorldStar Junior Golf Championships played at Paiute Golf Course in Las Vegas, July 16-20.

Sodhi, a Folsom teen who will be a freshman at Vista del Lago High School in a few weeks, led the tournament by one stroke heading into the final round, but his strong and steady even-par final round wasn’t enough to keep Luke Clanton of Florida, who shot two-under, from slipping in front of him to win by one stroke. Sodhi finished four-under-par for the tournament, four strokes in front of two-time world champion Wit Pitipat from Thailand.

Sodhi had 10 birdies and six bogeys to go along with 38 pars during the 54-hold tournament.

The World Stars of Junior Golf is a premier world junior golf tournament and has junior players representing nearly 40 countries. Their mission is to provide junior boys and girls of all ages with the most competitive field and the ultimate tournament experience.
