Soccer coach David Zinzun steps down
Popular Lincoln High coach David Zinzun recently announced he was stepping down from the girls soccer program, but will seek a position to coach in the boys program.
Zinzun started as junior varsity coach of the boys soccer program and was moved over to girls varsity in 2014. While with the girls, Zinzun was voted Pioneer Valley League Coach of the Year one season and led the team into the playoffs this year with a 6-4 league record.
“I built some great relationships and still have great relationships with a lot of the girls that I started with four years ago,” said Zinzun. “A couple of the girls I sent off to college I still talk to.”
Zinzun also coaches boys competitive club soccer. He is hoping for an opening in the boys program to remain with Fighting Zebras soccer.
“We’ve had good luck with good kids the last several years” said Zinzun. “They definitely made our jobs a lot easier.
