Hey Ford fans, time to rev your engines.
The FAST group (Ford A Speed Technology) is hosting a hill climb. Pre-1935 Fords will race up a tenth-mile incline. Last year’s champ is coming from Salt Lake City to defend their title.
“There will be lots of noise, lots of fun,” said Ron Ludford, event coordinator in an email. “You’d be surprised how fast these four-cylinder engines of the 1920s and 30s can go”
The race starts at 10 a.m. April 28 on Bill Clark Way at the Auburn Airport. Trophies will be handed out at the race’s end at 3 p.m.
There will be a “lunch wagon on site.”
To participate, racers are $30 to $40 and spectators are $10.
